It's time again to vote in the Worcester Magazine Music Awards. We are nominated this year in the best Funk/Soul category, but you can also write us in in several other categories. How about best Blues/R&B? Best live band? Certainly write in Katie McMahon in the best female vocalist category (and how screwed up is it that she wasn't nominated already) or Mike Ladd for best male vocalist? You can even vote for Best Band Website!!! We're depending on all of you out there, so come on and vote.

"The Valves and Tornado Alley Horns gave a brilliant performance on Saturday night at The Cannery. It was such an exciting sound! The band has great stage presence and Katie's amazing voice really soared. The audience were treated to a special show where live music, enhanced by acoustics and lighting made the house really groove." - Margaret Morrisey

"Caught you guys at the Hotel Vernon, after the poetry reading... Thanks for making my Thursday night awesome. You're the best live act I've seen in ages."
Matthew M. K. Hopewell, the Mad Cowboy of Worcester

"The band was great - a mix of Brian Setzer meets wedding band"
(editors note: wedding band?)

"My highlights: Catching an amazing Valves set down at the Vernon that got somehow better when the amp died, leaving their new amazing lead singer to put down the mic, walk into the middle of the ship room, and belt out the rest of the song OVER the horns, unamplified. Ballsy move, and absolutely great."
Scott Zoback - Worcester Magazine

"I was at the Hotel Vernon a couple weeks ago and I agree. If you can get past the pervading piss smell it's actually not a bad little place. Saw a band called the valves and it was the best live music I've seen in this city in a while. Hope the place can stay alive. But seriously man, clean up the piss..."
